Chin up, Princess, or the crown will slip.
A theme park princess must put her life back together after her happily ever after falls apart in this contemporary YA romance from Karole Cozzo, author of How to Keep Rolling After a Fall andHow to Say I Love You Out Loud.
Everything was supposed to be perfect. Alyssa has a job she loves, working as Cinderella at her favorite theme park; a fantastic group of friends; and a boyfriend who will no longer be long distance. But as the summer progresses, her prince becomes less charming and more distant, and Alyssa’s perfect summer falls apart.
Forced to acknowledge that life is not always a fairy tale, Alyssa starts working to pull her herself back together. Fortunately, she doesn’t have to do it alone. With her friend Miller’s support, she’s determined to prove that she’s more than just a pretty princess. And with his help, maybe she’s finally ready for something better than dreams. Maybe she’s ready for something real.

The Truth About Happily Ever After is my first book by Karole Cozzo and it surely won’t be my last! I really really enjoyed this book. I love seeing the character growth and my emotions were literally everywhere as I was reading The Truth About Happily Ever After. Oh, and the romance is SO swoon-worthy.
The story follows Alyssa who has a job she loves, working as Cinderella at her favorite theme park. She has the “perfect boyfriend” who will no longer be long distance and has a great group of friends. Her summer is supposed to be perfect.
But it isn’t. When Alyssa and her boyfriend reunite, things don’t feel right or seem right. I hate Alyssa’s boyfriend, Jake SO much. I hate the way he treats her. Alyssa works so hard to make the relationship work, but he just doesn’t seem to care. I knew he was trouble when he walked it (like literally). (Haha did ya see what I did there?!)
However, things get better. How?! Well, you will have to read for yourself to find out.
My favorite character is probably Miller. He is such a great friend and too sweet. He is also super supportive and I’m so happy that he got an ending that he deserves. By the way, the ending is super super cute. You don’t want to miss it!
To sum it up, if you are looking for a quick, sweet, summer read, definitely add this book to your TBR.
