My Thoughts:
The Empress of the Moon is one of my most anticipated 2017 read! So, I was super ecstatic that I got an ARC! Not only is the cover gorgeous, but the story itself is also quite fun!
However, one thing that extremely bothered me is fact that “Rhee and Aly” aren’t “thrown together”! I was expecting this amazing met up and some romance between the two characters. But, NO! They don’t interact at all! Say good-bye to Rhee and Aly ships, you guys. It doesn’t happen(well, not in this book that and probably the next) as both Rhee and Aly have their own crushes. This was a huge let down for me! In addition, I found the concept of the story a bit cliché. After all it’s about a princess trying to avenge her families death. Doesn’t that sound familiar?
Nevertheless, Empress of a Thousand Skies is still a very fun and action packed novel. Some parts of Empress of a Thousand Skies are very surprising and I really liked the twists. I found the technology extremely intriguing! I love science fiction, so in that aspect, I am very content.
Rhee is also a very relatable character! She’s super determined to avenge her family’s death. I really enjoy her perspective of the story. I’m glad that the author doesn’t make her perfect. She makes mistakes and that’s what makes her real!
Since the book is told in two perspectives, readers also get to meet Aly. To be honest, I couldn’t really get into his side of the story. Sometimes, I would find myself wanting to skip his perspectives and just read Rhee’s. I do like books with several perspectives, so I like the dual POV! Sadly, I found that confusing because there are so many things happening at once.
To sum it up, if you’re  looking for a fun, action packed book (that may or may not have some disappointing moments),I would totally suggest this one!
