Review: First and Then

Devon Tennyson wouldn’t change a thing. She’s happy watching Friday night games from the bleachers, silently crushing on best friend Cas, and blissfully ignoring the future after high school. But the universe has other plans. It delivers Devon’s cousin Foster, an unrepentant social outlier with a surprising talent for football, and the obnoxiously superior and maddeningly attractive star running back, Ezra, right where she doesn’t want them: first into her P.E. class and then into every other aspect of her life.

Pride and Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights in this contemporary novel about falling in love with the unexpected boy, with a new brother, and with yourself.

First and Then takes readers on one wonderful ride that will definitely make you smile and laugh! Emma Mills did an excellent job executing this story. This book held my attention right from the start and didn’t let go! I literally read the whole book in one setting. Each character had his or her own story which made this novel super fun.

I absolutely love each an every character! The main character, Devon is so snarky and has so much sass! I absolutely love her! She makes me laugh and giggle so hard.

Then, there’s the best friend and potential love interest. Cas is Devon’s best friend and is such a sweet heart! There relationship is so cute! However, Devon has this secret crush in Cas, which makes the story even more interesting! Next, there’s Ezra, the all American football player. His future seems to be all bright and perfect, but he also has a story of his own. He’s too is one of my favorite characters! He is good-looking but isn’t very good with words. This makes him so CUTE! He has such a hard time describing his feelings and thoughts that Devon feels like he doesn’t care about anything. I LOVE HIS CHARACTER!

First and Then is a must read! It’s sweet, funny and utterly enjoyable. It will make you smile, laugh and possibly cry!
