Review: The Wish Granter

An epic, romantic, and action-packed fantasy inspired by the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, about a bastard princess who must take on an evil fae to save her brother’s soul, from C. J. Redwine, the New York Times bestselling author of The Shadow Queen. Perfect for fans of Graceling and the Lunar Chronicles.
The world has turned upside down for Thad and Ari Glavan, the bastard twins of Súndraille’s king. Their mother was murdered. The royal family died mysteriously. And now Thad sits on the throne of a kingdom whose streets are suddenly overrun with violence he can’t stop.
Growing up ignored by the nobility, Ari never wanted to be a proper princess. And when Thad suddenly starts training Ari to take his place, she realizes that her brother’s ascension to the throne wasn’t fate. It was the work of a Wish Granter named Alistair Teague who tricked Thad into wishing away both the safety of his people and his soul in exchange for the crown.
So Ari recruits the help of Thad’s enigmatic new weapons master, Sebastian Vaughn, to teach her how to fight Teague. With secret ties to Teague’s criminal empire, Sebastian might just hold the key to discovering Alistair’s weaknesses, saving Ari’s brother—and herself.
But Teague is ruthless and more than ready to destroy anyone who dares stand in his way—and now he has his sights set on the princess. And if Ari can’t outwit him, she’ll lose Sebastian, her brother…and her soul.

My Review:
The Wish Granter follows the story of Ari, the humble newly crowned princess. When Ari discovers that her brother made a deal with the Wish Granter, Alistair Teague, she immediately tries to find a way to save her brother from the Teague. The story follows Ari as she searches far and near with her loyal friends for a way to defeat the Wish Granter.
I absolutely love Ari’s personality! What’s not to love! She’s humble, kind and loving. After all, she is trying to save her beloved brother! In addition she loves to bake and eat sweets! Her strength and vigor also helps her as she battles the Wish Granter. Ari’s love interest and companion is also very lovable.
Sebastian had a very sad childhood. He is a commoner who later gets a job as the new weapon master of the castle. There, Ari meets Sebastian. Despite the fact that Sebastian is a commoner, Ari befriends him (much to her brother’s dismay). Sebastian is a strong character who promises to protect Ari as they endeavor to outwit the Wish Granter. He’s so shy in the beginning and this makes their story just so adorable!
This story is a great spin on the tale of Rumplestiltskin. I love the Ari! She’s so AWESOME! The use of third person was absolutely wonderful, readers are able to see Ari’s perspective as well as Sebastian. The story is very well written and the story line flows very well. I will 100 percent recommend The Wish Granter!
